Ooren Tai was a male Ortolan. During the Galactic War, he was the leader of the Ortolan settlers at the Tromper Crags Geothermal Plant. Galactic Republic sergeant Dern tried to retake the Plant from the Ortolan at gunpoint, but was stopped and killed by an Imperial, who allowed Tai's operations to resume as long as they supported the Empire.
