An order comm was an old-fashioned voice-recording device that was usually mounted to a person's belt. It was mainly used in restaurants for waiters to dictate their client's order. The recording was stored in the central unit and then transmitted to a remote receiver, usually located in the kitchen. The waiter would speak into a recording stylus that was attached to the central unit with a retaining cord.
Hermione Bagwa used an order comm in Dex's Diner. She attached the central unit to her belt, and placed the recording stylus in a garter on her thigh.
