History
Edit
After the Battle of Endor, Orinda stayed in the Imperial Space until 9 ABY. The planet joined the New Republic after the end of the Thrawn campaign. After that, Orinda became a strategic world because it was located on an important hyperlane and on the border of Imperial and New Republic spaces.[3]
Orinda was captured by Grand Moff Ardus Kaine and the Pentastar Alignment forces before the launch of Operation Shadow Hand, in reborn Palpatine campaign to reconquer the Core Worlds. The Empire lost Orinda during the collapse of Carnor Jax's Crimson Empire.[3]

Orinda was retaken by Fleet Admiral Gilad Pellaeon in 12 ABY, and defended during a great battle including two Executor-class Star Dreadnoughts.[3] After the victory, the planet became the temporary headquarters of Admiral Pellaeon.[4] The New Republic chose to leave Orinda in Imperial hands and instead fortified surrounding systems.[5] The planet reintegrated the New Republic after Pellaeon's defeat during the Final Imperial campaign in 17 ABY.[3]
The planet was attacked and occupied by the Yuuzhan Vong during their initial assault on the Mid Rim. The planet remained under Vong control for most of the war. Imperial forces later routed the alien invaders in the system after a failed Vong assault on Imperial space.[3]
Orinda remained under Imperial control following the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong.[3]
