The Outer Rim Oreworks Company (or ORO) was a mining company.

The Outer Rim Oreworks Company (ORO) gave extremely low pay and forced their workers to live in company housing which would take all of the money that they were able to make. ORO would even go as far as giving out loans to workers that needed money for food, housing, etc... ORO would then not let them leave the mines until there debt was paid in full. The entity would be able to leave to go fight for the Republic army, however there wages would be garnished until debt was paid to ORO.
It ran a cortosis mine on Apatros in the Outer Rim Territories near the end of the New Sith Wars. Before he became the Sith Lord Darth Bane, Dessel worked for the company as a cortosis miner.
In 532 BBY ORO colonized Lamaredd, and 527 BBY, it colonized Engebo V (taking many Mon Calamari and Quarren to the world as laborers). It was still in existence as of 30 BBY, when it abandoned Engebo.[source?]
