"PK units are my first recommendation for the espionage programming. After all, who notices a PK?"
Republic Intelligence agent Vyn Narcassan[1]

The PK-series worker droid, also known as the PK-4 worker droid, was a small, humanoid droid manufactured by Cybot Galactica for general labor use.

Characteristics[]

A PK-series droid.

The PK-series worker droid was durable and versatile, able to perform basic tasks such as: simple repairs, organize supplies, clean up offices, and inventory cargo. They were equipped with extremely efficient batteries that allowed them to go long times between charging sessions.[1] They were very common and retailed for about 1,000 credits. They were grey and not armed.

History[]

Prior to the Clone Wars, the Trade Federation arranged to purchase the entire production run of PK droids from Telti. Vyn Narcassan met with the board of directors of Cybot Galactica and persuaded them to allow him to introduce espionage programming into the droids. Approximately one out of every 400 included a passive communication trap to intercept conversations and transmissions. The data was collected by Republic Intelligence agents working undercover as Cybot technicians.[1]

Round-up-Gungans

PK droids do cleanup work (center) after the Battle of the Grassy Plains.

Several could be seen working aboard Saak'ak during the Invasion of Naboo as they maintained the trade federation's flocks of battle droids, droidekas, and vulture droid starfighters. They also did cleanup work in the aftermath of the Battle of Grassy Plains.

A fancier version of the PK was the Royal Naboo PKN-49 worker droid. Additionally, Cybot Galactica used the chassis and many other parts from the PK to build other droids, including the SP-4 and JN-66 analysis droids used in the Jedi Archives in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and the IM-6 battlefield medical droid used by the Grand Army of the Republic.

A broken-down PK droid was responsible for monitoring the spaceport at Tun Aduban on Aduba-3.
