The PTB-625 planetary bomber was a bomber that was jointly produced by the Incom Corporation and Sublight Products Corporation.[1] With a narrow spaceframe flanked by large engines, the PTB-625 resembled other Incom/Subpro starfighters such as the Z-95 Headhunter, NTB-630 naval bomber, and the ARC-170.[4] The PTB-625 was not as maneuverable as the NTB-630 and was designed for planetary bombardment.[3] It was in common use by Republic Navy forces in the Outer Rim during the Clone Wars[1] of 22 BBY.[5]

Behind the scenes

The PTB-625 bomber was first mentioned in the 2005 Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a book detailing vehicles seen in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Later, the page mentioning the PTB-625 was reprinted in Star Wars: Complete Cross-Sections, and the bomber received a mention in the Databank entry of the ARC-170 starfighter on StarWars.com, as well as in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia entry of the NTB-630 bomber. The PTB-625 was later mentioned in 2012's The Essential Guide to Warfare, by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.
