Pakka's father, Keeheen, was captured by the Corporate Sector Authority and imprisoned at Stars' End. The CSA also captured and interrogated the young cub. The Authority's interrogators traumatized him and after being freed, he refused to speak.

Pakka was very acrobatic, a skill that came in handy when he joined his mother, who solicited Han Solo's help in freeing CSA political prisoners.

Pakka means "a pac" in Finnish.

There is also a possibiliy that Pakka's name might have originated from the word "paka", which means "cat" in Swahili.
