"On Duinarbulon the Parade Grounds are obvious fakes, never trod by one of Xim’s mighty Lancers; on Kismaano “merchant” and “swindler” are synonyms, and the quest is not even worth attempting."
―Bleys Harand declares the Parade Grounds as fakes in Travel Amid Strange Stars[src]

The Parade Grounds were an area on the planet Duinarbulon which were supposedly used by the Duinarbulon Star Lancers and other members of the empire of the Tionese despot Xim. Over twenty-five millennia after Xim's rule, the historian Bleys Harand claimed in his book Travels Amid Strange Stars that the grounds were clear fakes which had never been used by Xim's men.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Parade Grounds were supposed to be first mentioned in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a sourcebook released in 2012 written by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, but they were ultimately cut from the final product. The section including the grounds was later published as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare: Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com blog starting in 2013.
