The timeline placement of this tale was left ambiguous on Charlene Newcomb's original timeline however, from Alex Winger's age at the time of her adoption^[2][3] it can be assumed that this tale takes place in 3 or 2 BBY. Though existence of the Alliance to Restore the Republic may seem to indicate it happens in 2 BBY, The Essential Reader's Companion places it in 3 BBY.
