Paxxi Derida, or Pilot, as his disguised name, was a Phindian pilot for Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. A former thief, he caused a fuel leak on purpose to land on Phindar, the plan being to stop the Syndicat, secretly let his brother, Guerra Derida, board and hide until both made it to the surface of the planet. With the help of the Jedi, they managed to bring down the Syndicat. An invention of Paxxi's, the anti-register, played a role in the scheme.

With the downfall of the Syndicat, Paxxi and Guerra began running the office of governor.
