The Peremptory was an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer that served in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War.

HistoryEdit

In 8.5 ABY the vessel saw action at the Battle of Storinal, where it captured the New Republic Star Destroyer Rebel Dream.

The warship was destroyed in 9 ABY, after New Republic agents, most notably Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, deliberately rammed a slave-rigged Katana fleet Dreadnaught into the vessel during an Imperial operation to capture the legendary fleet's remaining derelict warships for the Empire. Despite attempts by the Peremptory's captain to take evasive action in order to avoid a collision, the Star Destroyer's bridge superstructure was rammed after its deflector shields had been considerably weakened as a result of an ion cannon barrage executed by General Garm Bel Iblis' warships. The ship was lost with all hands, including the captain and the entire bridge crew.

Later, Captain Brandei of the Imperial Star Destroyer Judicator vowed to himself that he would avenge the loss of the Peremptory. Brandei was personally rebuked by Grand Admiral Thrawn, who reminded the senior officer that New Republic forces would eventually face the consequences for their destruction of the Peremptory, and it was not his responsibility to enact personal revenge.
