Phase 5 Carbon Plating was an upgrade Podracer pilots could purchase for their vehicles to reinforce their Podracer's durability, adding carbon based plating to the vehicle. The upgrade cost anywhere from 950 to 1,200 truguts. During the year 24 BBY, the junk dealer Watto sold this upgrade to Podracer pilots.
Behind the scenesEdit
Phase 5 Carbon Plating was first mentioned in the 2002 video game Star Wars: Racer Revenge, and was available as a Podracer upgrade that players could purchase. The plating was never visible to the player. The upgrade was mentioned again in the game's strategy guide.
