This article is about the substance. You may be looking for the Legends character Phirk.

"The ore barons have forged and hardened phrik for bones. We build palaces where others would struggle to even mine."
―Baron Rubix[3]

Phrik was a rare and robust alloy.[4] Phrik was mined on Gromas, in the Perkell sector,[1] and Tatooine in the Arkanis sector. The Jedi Archive once contained an ancient staff made of the metal, which was on display at the Valo Republic Fair and briefly wielded by Lourna Dee, a Tempest Runner of the Nihil.[5] The dual lightsabers created by Darth Sidious during his apprenticeship under Darth Plagueis were made from phrik.[2]

Electrostaffs built by the Baktoid Armor Workshop were also made of phrik,[6] making them resistant to lightsabers.[7] Vicrul's scythe was reinforced with phrik threads, requiring a greater application of pressure in order to cut through it with a lightsaber..[8]

Behind the Scenes[]

A discrepancy exists in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode Grievous Intrigue. In this episode the character of Grievous engages in a fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his lightsabers cut through an electrostaff.[9] This runs counter to depictions of electrostaffs in the series, and it is unexplained if this was a limitation of the Phrik, a flaw in the design of the electrostaff, an application of cyborg strength, or a combination of all these factors.
