Pick-up droid

Pick-up droids over Mos Espa after the Boonta Eve Classic.

The pick-up droid was a small repulsorlift droid produced by Serv-O-Droid that saw operation during the last decades of the Galactic Republic.

Pick-up droids were dome-headed, multi-limbed salvage droids commonly used to collect parts and debris from crash sites. These droids were conveyed to salvage sites by P-100 salvage droids, which could store three pick-up droids with legs folded in its main, cylindrical body. The droids would then be released from the underside of the P-100, and carry parts back into the salvage droid.

P-100s and pick-up droids were a common sight during Podraces, and were used to carry debris back to the main area for collection by crashed Podracer pilots. At the Mos Espa Grand Arena on Tatooine, scrap parts were kept for just two hours before being sold off, often to Jawa scavengers. Many pick-up droids were deployed during the Boonta Eve Classic Podrace.

Behind the scenesEdit

Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Episode I names these droids as pick-up droids, while the Databank designates them as P-100 salvage droids—though this is actually the name of what the Databank refers to as the "holding arm".
