The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A language was used by the Pitrillistians, a sentient species native to the distant[1] Outer Rim Territories[2] planet Pitrillistia. It mostly consisted of buzz-like sounds created by the Pitrillistians' small wings that were located underneath their two-piece shells. Those sounds of the language had a musical character.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Pitrillistians and their language were created by Desset Fabien through the "Design An Alien" competition run in the Star Wars Galaxy Magazine.[1] The competition, launched in the magazine's third issue[3] in April 1995,[4] called for readers to create completely new alien species inspired by the original trilogy of Star Wars films. Fabien was nineteen years of age when they submitted their entry on the Pitrillistians, which was later published in the seventh issue[1] in April 1996,[5] under the "honorable mentions" section of the "16 and up" subdivision.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, later stated that published material from the "Design An Alien" competition was considered canon with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[6]

Are these aliens canon? Yes, though any text discrepencies [sic] with other sources would [sic] likely to superceded [sic] by the other source."
