The Planetary Pioneers were a group of pilots training on an unknown planet in the New Academy for Space Pilots. The students were training to fly transport ships to transport colonists to uninhabited planets, where they would establish colonies based upon utopian ideals. It is unknown if their mission ever went underway after a maverick moon almost destroyed the planet containing the school.

Luke Skywalker was a member of the Planetary Pioneers.
