Planetoids were spherical hazards scattered throughout the zero-gravity arena in the final round of the Big Game, a gladiatorial competition held on The Wheel. The planetoids would explode with deadly force upon contact with a contestant or the blast from a needle ray. They also had force fields that detected nearby contestants and responded by erupting with vaporizer beams.[1]
