The Pocker LJ was an ion-burst-powered atlatl, a simple spear-thrower that used a laser sighting unit for aiming. It was a good first rifle for young people, and was good for certain types of hunting. It was popular on backwater and low-tech worlds because of its simplicity and inexpensiveness.

A young Boba Fett learned to fish on Kamino using a pocker with a line attached. His father Jango Fett made Boba turn off the laser sight to practice his aim.
