The podport bandfill was type of hybrid musical instrument[1] consisting of three black, bell-shaped heads branching from a cylindrical body covered in metallic buttons. These buttons would be manipulated by a musician playing the instrument, and part of the central head was used as a mouthpiece.[2] The instrument had a belt-like harness attached for the musician to wear. A Pacithhip[1] musician played a podport bandfill while seated as part of a band playing during the[2] Boonta Eve Classic[1] podrace held[2] in the year 32 BBY.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

A podport bandfill first appeared as a prop in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. The prop was not named in the film,[2] but received identification in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, which was written by Adam Bray, Tricia Barr and Cole Horton.[1]
