Book I, Part I
BLACK SQUADRON
Thirty years have passed since the defeat of the evil
Galactic Empire, but threats of turmoil are rising.

To stem the tide of the First Order, a military force
aiming in secret to overthrow the New Republic,
General Leia Organa has founded the Resistance
movement. Looking to expand her forces, Organa
has recruited the best pilot in the galaxy - POE
DAMERON.

Now, with the help of his droid BB-8 and squadron of
fighter pilots, Poe must act quickly to defeat any
threat to the Republic that comes his way, no matter
how deadly the risks....

General Leia Organa assigns a mission to Dameron and Black Squadron to find Lor San Tekka, who may have information about the location of Luke Skywalker. The search leads Dameron to a cave system on Ovanis. He discovers a small community called the Crèche living there, with a glowing blue egg in the center. They worship and protect the egg, which they believe will hatch a savior for the galaxy. After initial hostilities, the Crèche reveal that Tekka has left. However, BB-8 discovers a tracking device on Dameron's X-wing, and First Order forces arrive.
