A poison dart,[1] also referred to as a toxic dart,[2] was a type of dart. Poison darts were fired from needle dart guns[3] to inject poisons.[1] A Kamino saberdart was a toxic dart from the planet Kamino, and was identifiable by the cuts on the side.[2] Kamino saberdarts used a combination of Malkite themfar and Fex-M3,[1] and the bounty hunter Jango Fett once used a Kamino saberdart to kill Zam Wesell.[2] The assassin droid IG-88 carried poison darts.[1]
Asajj Ventress used a Dathomirian poison dart to get revenge on Count Dooku. The plan was the dart was to num his senses so Naa'leth, Karis, and Ventress to kill him but Dooku was proven to be too strong.[4] On Kenari, its people uses poison darts to attack their enemies. Dathomirian poison darts are circular like a ball with retractable wings and a retractable needle. In 5 BBY, a leader of warrior children was killed by a survivor of a Republican starship, leading the children to fire dozens of poison darts at the survivor to avenge their leader.[5]
Ochi shot a poison dart from a sniper rifle when killed Major Erstin Deez of the Emperor's Royal Guard by grazing his neck. Later, when Deez and the other guards stood before Palpatine and Grand Vizier Mas Amedda in Palpatine's throne room, they all suddenly dropped dead, to the surprise of Amedda.[6]
