A polarizing field insulator suit was a heavy suit of armor that was usually worn by technicians who faced a risk of exposure to powerful energy discharges. It had a powerful generator that created an insulation field around the wearer. It mainly protected the wearer against electrical and ion energy, but didn't protect against other forms of attack.
