Political Reliability Observers oversaw ranking members of the Imperial Military to ensure that they, or those they were close to, did not say or act in ways that were critical of the New Order.

Behind the scenes

The concept of Political Reliablity Observers was introduced in Dark Empire Sourcebook, and is most likely based on the politruks ("political officer") in the Soviet Union, appointed to serve in the Red Army to observe political reliability of regular infantrymen.
