Polmanar was a textile-manufacturing world located in the Anoat sector of the Greater Javin region. In addition to textiles, farmers on-planet grew reedug narcotic among Polmanar's warm hills.

Some time after the Battle of Yavin in 0 ABY, Imperials attempted to force a tariff on reedug farmers. Angry with the taxes and desperate for medical supplies, the farmers enlisted the help of local guerrillas, who were soon reinforced by Rebel Alliance armaments. Before long, the Empire realized an attempted blockade was not worth the effort and left Polmanar in Rebel control. After the small Imperial occupation force retreated, the planet continued to be governed democratically.
