The Porg Stowaway was an avian porg male[2] from the ancient planet Ahch-To who hid away aboard the Millennium Falcon, along with at least three other porgs, before the Battle of Crait. After having made his way onboard the Millennium Falcon whilst it was on Ahch-To, the porg stayed put on the Falcon during the battle, and got in the way of Chewbacca's piloting on occasion. At least one such instance resulted in Chewbacca's batting him away with his arm.[1]

Following the Battle on Crait, the Porg Stowaway noticed vulptices running away from the cave where Resistance forces were hiding.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Porg Stowaway was first seen in the trailer for the 2017 film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, the second installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.[3] During a Q&A with Collider, The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson was asked by a kid what the name of the Porg Stowaway was. He gave the question back to the kid, who came up with the name "Turbis". Following the kid's suggestion, Johnson responded with "Pablo [Hidalgo], if you're listening to this livestream, that porg's name is now Turbis".[4] Coincidentally, Turbis happens to be the same name from a Sith Lord of the Star Wars Legends 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[5] Pablo Hidalgo, on his part, suggested Chewbacca name the Porg 'Han'.[2]
