A power hammer was a durasteel bludgeoning weapon, that worked in a way similar to a concussion stick. Originally used for heavy mining, when triggered by the user, repulsor and shockwave generators within the durasteel head of the hammer would activate, allowing a user to hit with incredible force. As a result, this weapon could smash through armor plates or a solid rock. They became popular melee weapons early in the history of the Galactic Empire, when mining companies found themselves in possession of the Empire and the miners fought back. Even heavily armored opponents could find themselves flying across a room, their armor shattered, when confronted by this weapon.
