Project Omega was experiment by Rezi Soresh to create the perfect assassin. X-1, X-2, X-3, X-4, X-5, X-6 and X-7 were the participants in the program, of which X-7 was victorious and earned the right of being Soresh's personal assassin. Soresh combined a concoction of chemical serums and torture to break down a man's resistance and erase memories. This caused them to become completely loyal to Soresh while still retaining the faculties necessary to carry out dangerous operations.^[1]

By 1 ABY, Soresh thought he had perfected the method. He used the results of the project during his exile on a barren moon to create an army of loyal but less-effective guards. He then applied the process to the Rebel pilot Luke Skywalker, but Skywalker was able to fake loyalty. During Soresh's last battle, Skywalker used the Force to overcome the guards' programming and allowed them to escape; Soresh was blasted by Han Solo.^[2]
