Purong was a pale-skinned Ganimed bounty hunter present at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina[1] in the city of Mos Eisley on the planet of Tatooine[2] before 0 BBY.[3] During one visit to the cantina, Purong engaged in a shootout with the Ariwook Rff Huff. The Ganimed wore brown shorts, a vest with a bandolier, a band around the left wrist, and brown boots. Purong also carried two blasters in holsters around the hip.[1]

Purong appeared in 1995's The Mos Eisley Cantina Pop-Up Book, written by Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta and illustrated by Ralph McQuarrie. Purong appears in the pop-up spread at the end of the book.[1]
