Qang Qahsas were specialized qahsas used by the Shaper caste of the Yuuzhan Vong.

Similar to the qahsas, the qang qahsas were designed to hold all the information as the protocols of the Shapers. They normally contained five primary cortexes of knowledge that were accessible to all Shapers with the two additional inner cortexes only being accessed by Master Shapers. The very core of the qang qahsa contained the eighth cortex which contained the most sacred protocols said to have been bestowed on their race by the Yun'o.
The knowledge within them was maintained through use of massive Rikyam brains.

What was unknown to the majority of the inhabitants of the Yuuzhan Vong Empire, the qang qahsa did not come from their gods. It did contain all the knowledge that was bestowed upon the Ur-Yuuzhan Vong millennia ago which was used to defeat a machine race back on Yuuzhan'tar.
Since that time, the origins of the qang qahsa was lost to future generations who began to revere the gods above all else. The information from the qang qahsa was also then bestowed upon the Shapers who created the living servants of their race so that they could thrive and prosper. It was also said that the eighth cortex in the qang qahsa contained necessary knowledge for the Yuuzhan Vong to survive grave threats but it was almost empty.
Nen Yim was escalated to the position of Master Shaper, she was assigned by Supreme Overlord Shimrra to fill the Eighth Cortex with new knowledge so that her people could conquer the galaxy.
Presumably, the qang qahsa joined many other Yuuzhan Vong biot's on their new homeworld of Zonama Sekot.
