Qar Jalunn was a mysterious young private investor on Genarius. He had more wealth than he seemed to know how to deal with, so threw his money into various projects with any small potential for profit. He barely seemed to notice that many of his investments ended up failures.

Qar Jalunn contacted Yush Baskalar and recruited him to conduct research on genetics and cybernetics in association with the Thaereian military. The exact nature of Jalunn's relationship with the Thaereians was unrevealed, but he had a number of secret meetings with Tira Wils.

Qar Jalunn had also hired some of the pirates of the Cularin system asteroid belt to do some jobs for him.
