Quest for Quasar

From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

Quest for Quasar was first released as a book, and then released as a big budget holofilm in 21 BBY by Myris Pictures and their proprietary HoloMaker 4.0.

Holoactor Harlan Ottekvar was to portray Lord Baltharog, but reaction to the decision to use him was criticized by fans of the original work. Reasons included Ottekvar being too short to portray Baltharog and that he was too famous.

Groz "QuasarKing327" Niclari was the staunchest critic of the decision and collected nearly 1.5 million signatures in his online petition to have Ottekvar replaced. He pointed out the height discrepancy, although some fans were quick to point out that the 1.89 meters that he proposed came from a spin-off source, and thus was not canon.

[edit] Behind the scenes

This story appears to parody how Star Wars fans and other related science fiction and fantasy fans have become critical of other re-released works.
