The Quintarad was a star system[2] located within Wild Space,[1] in the otherwise-starless region known as the Void of Aogros. The system consisted of five stars orbiting each other, and was considered an oddity.[2]

Astrophysicists were convinced the Quintarad was artificial by nature, and it was widely believed to be constructed by members of the sentient Celestial species,[2] who had disappeared from the galaxy by 30,000 BBY.[3] Several probes had been sent into the quinary system, but none of them had survived the journey.[2]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Quintarad was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the sidebar that would have mentioned the star system was cut before the book's release. The information regarding the Quintarad was later released in 2013 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[2] The Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Quintarad in grid square H-18.[1]
