The twin massive Koensayr R200 Ion Jet engines (rated at 250 KTU) propelled the star fighter in realspace, and each engine nacelle was topped with sophisticated sensor array. In an atmosphere, these ion fission engines worked in conjunction with recessed repulsorlift generators to attain speeds of 1,000 kilometers per hour.
The R200 Ion Jet engines worked in the midst of the Koensayr R300-H hyperdrive unit are housed in the midsection, which was simply a reinforced central spar extending from the cockpit. Attached to this spar was a thin cross-wing, which contained the Thiodyne 03-R cryogenic power cells and connected the craft to two immense Koensayr R200 ion jet sublight drives.

R200 Ion Jet Engines were designed and assembled by Koensayr Manufacturing. The engines served as theY-Wing’s main propulsion system in the Battle of Yavin, during the assault on the first Death Star. The R200 also propelled Y-Wings at the Battle of Endor, during the Rebellion's destruction of the second Death Star.
