Created by the Plintep Cybernetics Corporation, the RST Model Translator Droid was designed to be a pure translation droid. Built with feminine programming and large breasts due to the prominence of females in Mephout politics, the RST Model was made to translate languages without the subtlety and nuances of a protocol droid.

The RST model was susceptible to electromagnetic pulses that adversely affected their rationality circuits and life preservation programming. The defects led to many problems during Mephout government affairs, including a dozen assassinations, half a dozen declarations of war, and a proposal of marriage.

Considered a liability, the RST series were retired, sold off or given away as presents. They were replaced by modern protocol droids.
