This raid on the orbital shipping platform Viraxo 54, owned by Viraxo Industries and in place over the planet Denbo, took place around 3 ABY after the Imperial attack on the Rebel Alliance's hidden base on the planet Hoth. The raid was performed by the Azzameen family following an attempted sabotage of the family's cargo fields, which itself was spurred by Azzameen interference in an attempted raid on Harlequin Station. The Azzameen family, owners of a rival shipping company to the Viraxo, attempted to cause tension between the Viraxo and their Imperial allies in the raid. Antan Azzameen, a co-owner of the Azzameen company, plotted to sow this distrust by covertly planting a cargo container filled with contraband retrieved from the earlier Viraxo sabotage near Viraxo 54. Afterwards, a disturbance would attract the attention of the Galactic Empire, who would find the container filled with illegal spice in their routine inspection following the raid.

This raid was a failure, however, as Azzameen brothers Ace and Emon entered the system prematurely, forcing their sister Aeron, delivering the spice in the masquerading YT-1300 light freighter Selu, to drop her cargo early and attempt to flee. Razor-class starfighters were dispatched from the station to intercept Ace, flying the YT-1300 freighter Sabra, and Emon, flying the Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft Andrasta; the Pursuer-class enforcement ship Enkidu, a recurring enemy of the Azzameens, also engaged the Azzameen craft. Viraxo 54 noticed Aeron's attempted escape and the station disabled the freighter, leading to their discovery of the operation. The Azzameens, having retrieved Aeron from the Selu, were forced to destroy the disabled ship during their exit to remove an evidence the Azzameens were responsible.

The Viraxo suspected Azzameen involvment nonetheless and tensions increased between the two companies. Eventually, in repayment for the Azzameen attempt at sabotage in the Denbo system, the Viraxo contacted their Imperial allies to report the Azzameens; this lead to the eventual battle at the Alliance facility Hospital, the Imperialization of Azzameen assets, and Ace's enlisting in the Alliance Starfighter Corps.
