The Rakatan band was used to improve the wearer's ability to perceive the reality of their surroundings. The origins for the name of this band are unclear, although there was speculation that these bands were constructed as a defense against an ancient race of beings who made claims of dominance concerning their role in the galaxy. It was also said this species took credit for almost every major event in galactic history since the discovery of the hyperdrive.
