Rast'Tul supervised the kidnapping of Night Wren, the daughter of Senator Lavina Wren of Cularin, so that they could use her to force the Senator to be supportive of the Thaereians. She was taken to Thaere Privo and Rast'Tul told her that he was a friend of her parents and that they were two busy to look after her.
Later, on the orders of his superiors, he assembled two task forces: Task Force Pest and Task Force Vermin to operate in the Cularin system. Pest was charged with arresting Force-sensitives, so that Force-blocking drugs could be tested on them, while Vermin kidnapped children and tried to turn them into Thaereian agents. However, the Heroes of Cularin thwarted the efforts of both of them and then rescued Night from Thaere.
Some time later, Ras'Tul was made second in command of Strike Force Cularin, a military unit made up of forces from the Thaereian military, Cularin Militia and Galactic Republic. The task force formed up in the Cularin system and Ras'Tul joined the Republic cruiser Relentless. The were dispatched on a mission to the Ando system, but were delayed in leaving Cularin by a Thaereian customs frigate, until Ras'Tul intervened.
On arrival in the Ando system, the task force attacked a Separatist CR90 corvette, where a Thaereian agent was secretly meeting with them, to discuss Thaere allying itself with them. His old foes, the Heroes of Cularin, had traveled there with the task fore and when they boarded the corvette, he worried that they might discover what the ship was doing there, so he sent out a Z-95 Headhunter to attack it. However, the heroes destroyed the ship and Ras'Tul claimed that the pilot of the Headhunter had been acting alone. The task force then assaulted a Separatist base in the system. Ras'Tul accompanied the troops that were landing there and was almost killed. The heroes were able to save him, but he was enraged when he discovered that it was they who had saved him and he accidentally admitted to sending the Headhunter to kill them. This was overheard by Colonel Lazlo Ardine, the commander of Strike Force Cularin, and he had some Clone troopers arrest Ras'Tul.
