The Raven's Claw was a fast light courier that replaced Kyle Katarn's old ship, Moldy Crow.
[edit] History
Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn continued their career as mercenaries and fought their battles against the Imperial Remnant flying this ship. Jan Ors was apparently the pilot, who was said to be a better pilot than her companion. It was Jan's job, when she was not following mission objectives with Katarn, to ensure that he could be pulled out as quickly as possible should the operation turn desperate. This tactic almost cost Jan Ors her life, when Desann and Tavion Axmis found and abducted her, compelling Katarn to take up his abandoned Force powers and return to the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan.
After Katarn started his search for Desann, Master Skywalker promised him to take care of the Raven's Claw during his search. After Desann's death on Yavin 4, Katarn and Jan Ors continued to fly this ship.
During the time of the Disciples of Ragnos, Jaden Korr was the co-pilot of the Raven's Claw with Katarn. Together, they flew to Corellia, Nar Kreeta, Vjun, Byss and Taspir III.
[edit] Behind the scenes
The Raven's Claw's design is quite similar to that of the Moldy Crow. It looks more advanced, representing the age of its predecessor and the beginning of a new era for Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors after the Jedi Knight abandoned his powers.
Two different models were made for the Jedi Knight series: One with high polygon number for cinematics and one with fewer polygons for in-game use. As such, in cut-scenes it seems to need a level 2 or 3 force jump to get ontop of it, whereas in game where ever it appears, Jaden can jump on top of it, with a level 1 force jump, and is just as tall, if not taller that the height of the cockpit.
The ship was likely named after Raven Software, the developer of Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. The name also bears resemblance to the house "Ravenclaw" in the Harry Potter series.
The Raven's Claw looks similar to the 'Blackbird' jet from the X-men comics, which itself resembles the real-life Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a reconnaissance aircraft that operates at such high altitudes that it could be considered a suborbital spacecraft.
