Raydonia was a temperate, forested planet located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories.

Description[]

Orbited by a pair of moons,[2] Raydonia was a small, easily overlooked planet located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was connected via hyperspace route to Botajef and Nag Ubdur;[3] other worlds in relative proximity included Akiva,[6] Dathomir,[1] and Dermos.[6] A temperate world covered in forests, it was the site of an unallied settlement that required supplies from regularly scheduled transport ships.[1]

History[]

"There will be more innocent blood on your hands, Kenobi! Unless you come. Face me. Come alone. If you do not, this world will burn!"
Darth Maul, via hologram, taunts Obi-Wan Kenobi to face him on Raydonia[2]

During the Clone Wars, the renegade Sith Lord Maul and his brother Savage Opress ventured to Raydonia, where they slaughtered human colonists in an attempt to draw Obi-Wan Kenobi there. Once Kenobi arrived, he fought the two Sith brothers with the aid of Asajj Ventress.[2]

Following the Battle of Endor, Wedge Antilles volunteered to patrol certain Outer Rim planets where Imperial presences were possible. Before he and his starhopper were captured by the Star Destroyer Vigilance over Akiva, he reported to the New Republic while on Raydonia. When he disappeared, the New Republic sent scouts to several nearby worlds, including Akiva.[6]

Behind the scenes[]

Raydonia first appeared in Revenge, the 22nd episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' fourth season.[2]

Location[]

"The five closest worlds to Raydonia offer a glimpse of where Captain Antilles could have been heading next. Mustafar makes some sense, as does Geonosis一"
Ensign Ardin Deltura to Admiral Gial Ackbar, following the disappearance of Wedge Antilles[6]

The novel Aftermath indicates that the "five closest worlds" to Raydonia are Akiva, Tatooine, Mustafar, Dermos, and Geonosis.[6] However, while Tatooine and Geonosis are both in the Arkanis sector (at Grid Space R-16), Mustafar has been established to be a considerable distance away from both of them (at L-19).[7] Furthermore, both of these planets are on the other side of the galaxy from Dathomir (at O-6).[1][7]

The galactic map of Star Wars: Timelines indicates that both Raydonia and Akiva are nowhere near either Mustafar or Tatooine/Geonosis. Instead, it places the two worlds in the galactic north (also at O-6), relatively close to Dathomir.[3] Given the internal contradiction in the Aftermath description, this article assumes that the location given by Timelines is correct.
