[edit] History
After the Battle of Endor,[1] Kaine held the Pentastar Talks onboard the Reaper, and the ship was the site of the signing of the Pentastar Alignment Treaty.[2]
During the reign of the reborn Emperor Palpatine, Kaine was involved in the fighting of Operation Shadow Hand, where he lost his life. After the final death of Palpatine, the Reaper returned to the Alignment, where it remained until the Alignment was annexed into the reconstituted Imperial Remnant by then-Admiral Gilad Pellaeon. Pellaeon, having lost his flagship Chimaera during Operation Shadow Hand, made the Reaper his flagship.[3]
Pellaeon used the Reaper throughout his campaigns of 13 ABY to great effectiveness, especially at the Battle of Orinda where it fought against the New Republic's Rogue Squadron and the Star Dreadnaught Lusankya, one of the few known cases of ship-to-ship combat between Star Dreadnaughts.[3]
The Reaper was eventually lost about a year after Orinda, when two full New Republic fleets captured the Antemeridian Sector and much surrounding space from Moff Getelles, and were thus poised to strike at the heart of the Empire. Pellaeon, stuck in a protracted campaign of Adumar, was able to mount a delayed response that saved the Empire, but cost him the Reaper in the process.[3]
