[edit] History

The Tyrant is disabled by the planetary ion canon during the Battle of Hoth.

Assigned to Darth Vader's Death Squadron, it was commanded by the capable Captain Xamuel Lennox, with Lieutenant Cabbel serving as executive officer. During the Battle of Hoth, Tyrant attempted to intercept the first Rebel transports to flee from Hoth, but was disabled by several shots from the Rebel's planetary ion cannon.

In 4 ABY, Captain Lennox and the Tyrant participated in the Battle of Endor.[1]

Later, in the aftermath of the Bacta War, the Tyrant was captured by the New Republic at a deep space supply depot and recommissioned as the Rebel Dream.

By 8 ABY, the Rebel Dream was serving as Leia Organa Solo's consular ship, but was back in active duty to fight the Imperial Star Destroyer Peremptory at the Battle of Storinal. It was in this battle that Rebel Dream was recaptured by Imperial forces, although it is unclear if the ship was recommissioned.

The Rebel Dream served under General Wedge Antilles at Borleias. The Rebel Dream's starfighters and support craft featured a white-and-dark-gray color scheme during the siege of Borleias. She later joined the fleet of the fledgling Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, where she participated in the defense of Mon Calamari.[source?]

[edit] Behind the scenes

The image of the Tyrant in the Star Wars Encyclopedia features an inscription on the hull that reads, "We Brake For Nobody," a reference to the parody film, Spaceballs.
