Rebel Friend was a Human male Rebel trooper aboard the CR90 corvette Tantive IV during a battle fought between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire above the planet Tatooine in the year 0 BBY. He aided Captain Raymus Antilles and the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 against Imperial stormtroopers who had invaded the Tantive IV. After battling the stormtroopers, Rebel Friend and the others in the group arrived at the starship's escape pods, allowing C-3PO and R2-D2 to escape the besieged Tantive IV. Rebel Friend and Antilles, however, stayed behind.
A Human male, Rebel Friend was alive during the opening stages of the war between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. During a battle above the planet Tatooine in the year 0 BBY, Rebel Friend was stationed aboard the CR90 corvette Tantive IV, a Rebel starship being attacked by the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator.
The Devastator captured the Tantive IV in a tractor beam, and Imperial stormtroopers boarded the corvette. Rebel Friend was aboard the Tantive IV, fighting two of the invading stormtroopers, when Captain Raymus Antilles and two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, arrived on the scene. Antilles assisted Rebel Friend in defeating the two stormtroopers, after which the group continued on toward their destination, the Tantive IV's escape pods. Battling stormtroopers and Imperial officers along the way, the entourage reached the escape pods. C-3PO and R2-D2 jettisoned from the ship in an escape pod, bound for the surface of Tatooine, while Rebel Friend and Antilles stayed behind.
Personality and traitsEdit
Rebel Friend was a trooper who assisted the Rebel Alliance in its fight against the Galactic Empire. He had fair skin and black eyes. At the time of the battle above Tatooine, he wore a red shirt with a black vest, gray pants, and a black-and-white helmet. He carried a blaster on that occasion.
Behind the scenesEdit
The Rebel Friend first appeared in the opening level of the non-canon LucasArts video game LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, which was released on September 12, 2006. He later made another appearance in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which was released on November 6, 2007, and contained the content of both LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.
Rebel Friend was a playable character in both games, rather than the majority of the other Rebel troopers in the games, who were non-playable characters. If two players play through the level in "Story" mode, both players have the ability to fight once Rebel Friend is added to the party, rather than one of the players being forced to play as a non-combatant droid once Princess Leia leaves the level. After unlocking Rebel Friend in the "Story" mode of the games, the player has the option to play as him in any level in the "Free Play" mode of the games.
He is depicted as well in both games' Prima game guides, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy: Prima Official Game Guide and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga: Prima Official Game Guide.
