Hawkbat Squadron[]

Hawkbat Squadron is a squadron in the Starfighter Command Pilot Detachment of the Rebel Legion; a fan-created organization dedicated to the creation and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of rebel or "good guy" costumes from the Star Wars universe. Formed by the members of Echo Base, under the command of Ed O'Connell, the Hawkbats followed the lead of Warhawk Squadron of Ra Kura Base. Formed initially for the group of Star Wars pilot costumes from the Original trilogy (T-65 X-wing starfighters, RZ-1 A-wing interceptors, B-wing starfighters and BTL Y-wing starfighters), The Hawkbats now allow any recognized Pilot costume from the Movies and Expanded Universe.

The Hawkbats made their most impressive showing in February of 2005 attending a Star Wars Promotional appearance in Times Square, NYC with the Lucas Film 2/3 scale X-wing fighter. Since that time, Hawkbat Squadron has taken a leading role in the Rebel Legion alongside the Warhawks in showing off the pilot costumes of the Rebel Alliance on the East coast.

The first subgroup of the Hawkbats was formed in July 2007. Sabre Wing is an official wing of the main group consisting of members from Western New York. In September 2007 the Hawkbat Squadron Commander became Gilberto Guemes Jr.

The Squadron got its name from the Hawk-bat, native to Coruscant and the use of the name in the Wraith Squadron books.

Hazard Squadron[]

Hazard Squadron is a squadron in the Starfighter Command Pilot Detachment of the Rebel Legion assigned to Sunrider Base; a fan-created organization dedicated to the creation and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of rebel or "good guy" costumes from the Star Wars universe. Formed by Shawn Crosby and Jon Paulson, the Hazards are one of the largest squadrons in the Rebel Legion and is based in Southern California's Sunrider Base. Predominantly formed of Star Wars X-wing pilot costumes from the Original trilogy, the Hazards also include Snowspeeder, A-wing and Y-wing pilots as well.

Whenever Lucasfilm ships its X-wing mock-up to a Southern California location, ""Hazard Squadron"" is the go-to group trusted with its set up. It's members have logged many hours in the painstaking construction (and deconstruction) of this traveling display over the years. (SIGGRAPH, FIDM's "Dressing the Galaxy" Exhibit, and Celebration IV to name a few locations it's been on display.)

Hazard Squadron's motto is, "Fly Casual."

Screaming Tauntaun Squadron[]

Screaming Tauntaun Squadron is a squadron in the Starfighter Command Pilot Detachment of the Rebel Legion; a fan-created organization dedicated to the creation and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of rebel or "good guy" costumes from the Star Wars universe. Formed by the members of Central Base, the Screaming Tauntauns join Warhawk Squadron of Ra Kura Base, Hazard Squadron of Sunrider Base and Hawkbat Squadron of Echo Base in forming the Rebel Legion Starfighter Command.

The squadron made their debut at the annual Anoka, MN Halloween Parade in 2005. Since then, its members have also made appearances on Timothy Zahn's Outbound Flight book signing tour and the kickoff of the 2006 Wild River Festival, as well as Charles Ross' One Man Star Wars Trilogy Show.

The squadron's name is a play on the fact that most of its members are from Minnesota, where the joke is that it's as cold as Hoth there. Also, the nickname of the fictional Minnesota State University from the TV series Coach is the Screaming Eagles.

Warhawk / Phoenix Squadron[]

The Warhawk Squadron is a squadron in the Starfighter Command Pilot Detachment of the Rebel Legion assigned to Ra Kura Base; a fan-created organization dedicated to the creation and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of rebel or "good guy" costumes from the Star Wars universe. Formed by Ken Ograyensek, the Warhawks were the first designated "squadron" within the Rebel Legion. Formed initially for the group of Star Wars pilot costumes from the Original trilogy (X-wing, A-wing, B-wing and Y-wing), the Warhawks now include a custom variation of the pilot costumes seen in the Star Wars series.

The Warhawks made their first appearance as a complete squadron at MegaCon 2003 in Orlando, Florida as part of Ra Kura Base (the Florida branch of the Rebel Legion). Since the creation of the squadron, other groups of pilot costumers in the Rebel Legion have begun to create additional pilot squadrons organized within their respective states.

The Warhawk motto is, "Do it for the story."

Since its inception, Warhawk Squadron has been decommissioned by the RLSC and been re-designated Phoenix Squadron.
