The Rebel mortar trooper, also known as the thermal detonator trooper or grenade trooper, was one of the classes of ground units which was deployed during the Galactic Civil War. Strategically positioned behind front-lines, mortar troopers play a key role in combat by providing medium-ranged supporting fire for other Rebellion ground troops. They served with Princess Leia Organa when her transport crash landed on Krant. They fought alongside Leia and Luke Skywalker on Eredenn.
