The Rebel scout speeder was a type of repulsorcraft utilized by the Alliance to Restore the Republic. It could seat three Rebel troops inside, in addition to the crew. It was armed only with a heavy blaster cannon. The cannon would require the gunner to sit at the top in order to function. This turret could also detach from the vehicle and become a stationary, ground-based turret.[1]

Its design bears many similarities to the SoroSuub-produced Rebel combat speeder, utilized around the same time by the same group.

This vehicle was created for the LEGO Company's series of "Battle Packs", as they wanted to market only the minifigures as a way to "build your army". However, as Hasbro holds the exclusive rights to sell Star Wars themed action figures, LEGO developed this craft.[source?]
