A number of registration protocol droids served the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Among their duties were assisting the pilots with their initial registration after joining the Alliance, and ensuring security verification prior to allowing access to restricted areas of a cruiser. A guard would be present to ensure that those who failed verification could not proceed.

One of them could be found on the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Independence during the Galactic Civil War.

Behind the scenesEdit

This droid is actually a game mechanic for the game Star Wars: X-wing which serves for the player to log his name in and start the game. Its appearance differs significantly between the original and the collector's versions, looking much more cartoonish in the latter.
