The Republic Treasury was responsible for ensuring the financial viability of the Old Republic and its primary form of currency, the datarie or Republic credit. Within its organization was a complete Audit Division, that ensured all member corporations and governments - including the Republic itself - followed the proper accounting procedures and regulations. Each branch of the Republic Treasury was allowed to enforce its own regulations, and many branches had dedicated investigative teams.
