Prelude
Edit
During the Clone Wars[1]—a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, an union of commercial organizations[8]—circa 21 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Adi Gallia's starship was attacked by[1] Confederate General Grievous near the planet Patitite Pattuna. Sometime after the event,[1] the general's flagship,[3] a Providence-class carrier/destroyer,[5] engaged[1] the Weequay pirate ship Marauder,[9] which prompted the protocol droid C-3PO and the astromech droid R2-D2 to enter the Separatist vessel, where they were arrested and sent to the incinerator room for meltdown.[1]
The battle
Edit
- "General Grievous has fled."
"Very good. Finish off the remaining droids." - ―Wolffe and Plo Koon
During the meltdown process, a fleet of five[1] Venator-class Star Destroyers[4] arrived[1] from hyperspace[3] and opened fire on the Separatist craft, disgorging[1] Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighters[6] and BTL-B Y-wing starfighters.[7] The Wolfpack,[3] a team of clone troopers, infiltrated Grievous' flagship along with Jedi Master Plo Koon, destroying several B1 battle droids and rescuing C-3PO, R2-D2 and Adi Gallia. The group of clones were then ordered to eliminate the remaining droids.[1]
