Reverse engineering was the process of discovering the technological principles of a device, system or object, taking it apart, and then being able to do better maintenance or duplicate the said thing. Reverse-engineering was done to Swarm-class battle droids by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong War to have enhanced entechment processes from other galactic civilizations. The E-5 blaster rifle was also reverse-engineered to be a more effective and versatile weapon for the droid troops by Baktoid Armor Workshop.
