The Rim Campaign was a military endeavor undertaken by the Sith Empire around 3,660 BBY, during the Great Galactic War. The campaign was overseen by the Sith Lord Darth Angral and the Dark Council, but was personally led by Darth Malgus and his comrade, Darth Venemal. The Galactic Republic, which was able to strike back against the Sith and take the fighting to the heart of their Empire, was led by the Jedi Master Ven Zallow, who scored several victories, but was ultimately driven out of the region.
